Dublin RSTA Trip September 2026 - Slovenia and Gulf of Trieste

We in the Dublin branch are looking forward to what promises to be a lovely trip to Slovenia and the Gulf of Trieste. Detailed itinerary on Travel Escapes Website.

Highlights incude:

• Visiting the stunning Lake Bled
• Panoramic boat trip from Portoroz to Izola
• A day trip to the Slovenian Capital Ljublijana
• A full day excursion to the city of Trieste
• Expore the spectacular Postojna caves and enjoy a visit to Predjama Castle
• In your leisure time you can visit one of the many spas that use mud and brine from the nearby traditional salt pans.

REPORT: Branch Salamanca Trip October 2025

Members of RSTA Dublin and friends, led by Marian Lyons, enjoyed an eventful trip to Salamanca recently.

BRANCH OUTING JULY 2025:  Croke Parke Tour

 Members decided in the middle of All Ireland fever that it would be a good time to visit Croke Park. We had a tour of the stadium, a visit to the museum and the highlight was the Skywalk on the roof.

We would recommend the tour to all members.  It is a great day out. There is a very good café which serves lunch and snacks.

Report - Branch Meeting 7th February

The first Branch meeting of the year was addressed by a solicitor on the subject of making a will.  The meeting was followed by a "Meet and Greet" event with tea/coffee and scones. 6th March Meetiing: Talk on Smock Alley Theatre

3rd April Meeting: We will discuss the motions for the Annual Conference so that our voting delegates can bring forward the wishes of the branch members.Since it will be Easter week, the meeting will be followed by a 'finger food' lunch which can be booked at the March branch meeting.

 Branch Visit to National Maritime Museum - July 2023

Some 20 members visited the National Maritime Museum in Dunlaoghaire for a guided tour led by Joe varley, retired ASTI member.

Following the tour, members had lunch in some of the many restaurants in the vicinity.

 Dublin Branch Summer Lunch 2023

On June 21st the Dublin Branch celebrated another successful year of activities with our tradtional Summer Lunch, which was attended by 37 members.

A delicious lunch was served in the magnifcent Art Deco dining room of Wynn"s Hotel. On arrival, members were given a ticket and after the lunch there was a draw for prizes. 

Everone was in excellent spirits and all declared that it had been a really wonderful day.

FREE ANTI-BULLYING CAMPAIGN TOOLS FOR SCHOOLS 

CAN YOU HELP? 

RSTA has received a request for volunteer translators from Sean Fallon,  RSTA  member and former RSTA National Secretary. Sean is the co-founder of the voluntary Anti-Bullying Campaign for schools.

The Anti-Bullying Campaign programme has been made available free of charge through the campaign website and has been implemented in primary and post-primary schools all over Ireland. The programme has also been offered "as Gaeilge" with translation of the resources provided by C.O.G.G. which is funded by the DES in order to give equal access to pupils in all-Irish schools.

Sean writes ". . .Because bullying is a universal problem in schools and because our programme works so well I am hoping  to make it available in other European languages beginning with French, German and Spanish . . . to do this I need to enlist volunteer translators who would translate even just a few pages from our programme. . . It occcurs to me that retired teachers of French, German, Spanish or other European languages may now have the time and the capability to translate a few pages from our website programme on a voluntary basis."
